New Year Ahead

We had a lovely time in Penticton with family. Hugh, Max, Sophie and I drove up on Christmas day and back yesterday. Snowy all the way. When we approached the coast the sun came out and the snow turned to rain. After the snowy mountains is was a relief to be back in the rain again. And oh yes, it was not me driving. Hugh had that honour. It took about one hour longer than usual.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Vancouver

Something for Vancouver to think about, the snow on the figs tree and bamboo. It is a good day to be going nowhere and that is exactly where I want to go. The last of the day's outside errors are done and we are suppose to be getting 2o cm more tomorrow. The last time I looked 20cm was 8 inches, or 2 hands if you are into measuring horses. So today is a day that 8 inch tall ponies should definitely be kept in the home paddock.

We are expected in Penticton for Christmas dinner so time will see how that goes. But now the days are getting longer and that is enough to make me dance around the Christmas tree.
Happy HO HO.

Back to the Blues

Tomorrow is the last market of the season, the Womens' Faire at HeritageHall.

There is no way that I will be able to do all the things I wanted to do this year so I have spent some of the time today on making blue things. When I started doing polymer clay I thought that the only colours I would ever use were indigo, white, and gold. Gradually other colours crept into my work but I still like to go back to the blues for a re set now and then.

I made the experimental hair sticks today and the earrings I finished off yesterday. I am looking forward to the new year to do more blue sculptures. One of my horse sculptures sold recently which added another incentive to get going again.

Well only to more market days this year. Even if it snows I will be at the market this week end. Drop by and say hi, it could be rather quiet on Sunday.

Making Faces in the Rain

I am putting off going to the locker to get my cart to roll my stuff into Heritage Hall of Main Street for this week end's Farmers' Holiday Fair. I will be there both Saturday and Sunday. It is a first for me to be there two days in a row and I am looking forward to not having to pack up my gear Saturday night. Good thing too, because I have an actual "office" party to go to. If a construction company party where most of the people don't work in an office can have an office party. I guess it is a company party. I go because Hugh works for the company. It is always good fun.

In the mean time I have taken a little while to make faces. Just little faces. I am not sure if they will ever become more but here they are posted especially for Deb who is very good at making faces.

Bigger Bolder or What?

Here are three of the necklaces that I finished. I was quit pleased with them. Sophie would rather that the center bead was circular and Hugh thinks that the center bead looks like a big blue tongue. With my family I will not be getting a swollen head.

Winter in Vancouver

It is December and it looks like there could be snow in the next week but now it is the Wet Coast as usual. I was in West Vancouver on Saturday and took a couple of pictures that are super typical of the weather this time of the year.

I was putting in my hours at the Craft House Gallery Great Stuff Christmas sale. It is a great opportunity to look at what others are doing. Looking at other work made me feel that I have been far to timid with my jewelry and I have decided to make myself a new big necklace. Here is a sketch that I did in the quite minutes at the Ferry Building.
