I am going to Whistler today and tomorrow I will be a the Whistler Farmers Market for one time only. I little excitement into my dreary little life. Whistler in the summer! Looking forward to it. The neat picture comes from Carmen - I stole it from her blog - I don't think she will miss it. Monday I will have my own pictures of Whistler - better now that 2010.

Sometime I have to take a break from filing orders, olives as and enhancement to another crafter's product, and try some thing new. Olive green, makes me think about jade, jade makes me think about sculptures, jade sculptures make me think about Buddha figure. So a diversion from olives to something new for me.
I find all greens are unnatual before the are mixed. This is the formula I like for olive green using fimo soft: green #50 + yellow #16 + brown #7. The green on the left is 1.2.1 and the darker one on the right is 1.1.1.
To get the jade for the little Buddha I have mixed the smallest amount of green with translucent. mixing several batches and bunching them gives the faux jade a more natural appearance.

This week end will be the last of the outdoors Farmer's Markets for the year. Carmen of Melonhead Knitwear and I will be sharing a tent on Saturday the 12th at Trout Lake and Sunday I will be the last Ladner Market. I am looking forward to Carmen's company and to see what new and wonderful hats and wool she has to offer. I will have lots of new beads and things to show market goers.
See you there!
