The Delights of Taking Inventory

I am longing to make things but there is a delight in counting and packing. Looking at the past – “Did I really make that? Gross! That one will never is the light of day again!” or “Hey, that’s not bad.” Packing, signage, finishing and finding displays then off to Vancouver Island on Thursday.

I am not good at events – big, markets, Christmas – but once I am there they are fun. Looking forward to seeing market friend at Filberg and this year I am lucky enough to have my daughter Sophie there to help, next year at this time she will likely be in Ontario so this year is special.

Breillant !!!

Crazy busy getting ready for markets but yesterday I took a workshop on making radial beads from Canadian polymer clay artist Helen Breil. I learned to make radial texture sheets – very exciting for me.

This is my first attempt – a little sideways from that class but I am inspired. The little Buddha is from a mold make from one of our hostess, Linda's beads.

Thank you Helen for sharing some of your Breillance.

Why We Do This Stuff

It has been a long time since I have blogged – blogging is not why I do this stuff. This stuff is craft/art and selling at markets. Besides earning more money to buy more stuff to make more stuff, most of the crafts people that do festivals and farmers market love the excitement of delivering just the right thing to just the right person. I had that opportunity yesterday at a near perfect day at the Ladner Farmers Market. The right guy got right thing and I got the photo to prove it.

Hands held over my head I took this picture just outside my tent.

And another shot at the front of my space.

And one of what they were looking at.

I won’t be back in Ladner until the 22nd of August but I have lots of other markets to look forward to especially Filberg on Vancouver Island at the end of the month.
