One extra cooking can make two halves of a pot come together without the trouble that I usually get myself into. I have tacked the two halves together in four places with dots being generous enough with the clay to keep the halves from skating around. after the cooking I caulked the space. This was easy to do with the halves firmly together. After the next cooking the four original lumps can be trimmed back flush with the surface of the pot.
I hope to follow up on this but I wanted to get this post in before February disappears.
